Mykola V. Davydov

Born on May 12, 1975, in the village of Pechyny, Trostyanets district, Sumy region. Graduated from the Pechyny village secondary school, the vocational technical school in the city of Trostyanets (now the State Vocational and Technical Educational Institution "Trostyanets Professional Lyceum") with a specialty in "tractor driver" and Sumy Agricultural University (now Sumy National Agricultural University) with a specialty in "mechanization." Served mandatory military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2007, worked as a lumberjack in the Neskuchansky forestry of the State Enterprise "Trostyanets Forestry." On August 15, 2014, mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Served as a tank operator-gunner in the 93rd Separate Guards Mechanized Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1302, the urban-type settlement of Cherkaskoye, Novomoskovsk district, Dnipropetrovsk region). Participated in Ukraine's anti-terrorist operation. On June 30, 2015, around 20:35-21:15 in the settlement of Pisky, Yasynuvata district, Donetsk region, Sergeant Davydov exited the tank and, together with other servicemen, headed for cover. At that moment, a mortar shelling began. As a result of the shelling, Sergeant Davydov sustained severe shrapnel wounds. The serviceman was evacuated to a hospital in the city of Selydove, Donetsk region. Doctors fought for Sergeant Davydov's life, but their efforts were in vain. On July 1, 2015, around 3:00, the serviceman died from his injuries. On July 3, 2015, he was buried in the Central Cemetery of the city of Trostyanets, Sumy region.
