Mykola V. Kotko

Soldier Mykola Kotko was killed on July 4, 2023 in a battle with the occupiers near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 24 years old. Mykola was born in Ivano-Frankivsk. He studied at school No. 21 in the city. He obtained the profession of a programmer technician at the Ivano-Frankivsk Financial and Commercial Cooperative College named after S. Granat. Later he went to Austria, where he studied at the Faculty of Journalism at the University of Vienna. However, when the full-scale war began, he decided to return home and defend his native country. Mykola joined the ranks of the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought on the hot fronts of the war. "The best of the best, one of the first," wrote a fallen comrade. "May the Almighty help to overcome the bitter pain of irreparable loss! Eternal memory, honor and glory to the Hero!" - noted the community. The young defender was buried in the village of Viktoriv, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Mykola is survived by his mother, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
