- Junior Sergeant Mykola Makievskyi (call sign Malyi) was killed on January 3, 2023, during the battle for the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. While defending the positions of Ukrainian defenders, he sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy artillery and mortar fire. The defender was forever 27 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Zarichne, Vinnytsia region. He graduated from Tulchyn Vocational School No. 41 with a specialization in "Accounting and Auditing". He obtained higher education at Vinnytsia National Agrarian University. In peacetime, he worked in the linear service of PJSC "Vinnytsiaoблenergo" in Tulchyn, holding the position of an electrician of the 4th group. During the full-scale war, Mykola defended his native country in the ranks of the 101st battalion of the 61st separate mechanized infantry brigade. He was a mechanic-driver of a mechanized unit. "He was the best man and a loving father for his daughters. He always came to the aid of others, was sincere and open. He loved his life, was a true Ukrainian, a patriot and a son of his country," said the wife of the fallen warrior. The hero was buried in his native village. Mykola is survived by his parents Volodymyr Petrovych and Tetiana Petrivna, wife Iryna, daughters Varvara and Mariia, sister Alina, and brother Viktor.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
