Mykola V. Marchenko (Shark)

Junior Sergeant Mykola Marchenko was killed on August 17, 2022, near the village of Krasnivka in the Kherson region. The fighter was hit by enemy rocket fire while performing a combat mission to cover the region's airspace. He was 24 years old. Mykola was born in the village of Baranove, Odessa region. He graduated from Baranivska school No. 1. From a young age, he was fond of sports. He loved playing football. After serving in the army, he decided to stay. He signed a contract with the 38th anti-aircraft missile regiment named after General-Horunzhy Yuriy Tyutynnik. He was an operator. From the first days of the full-scale war, Mykola, along with his comrades, defended Ukraine from the occupiers. "A very good, smart guy, with whom everyone wanted to work. People were drawn to him. He knew his business, was one of the best," said Anastasia, a combat comrade. Mykola left behind his mother, wife, and little daughter, who was born after her father's death.
