- The shooter Mykola Perchynskyi (call sign Perchik) was killed on October 14, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Torske in the Donetsk region. The 44-year-old defender sustained numerous injuries during enemy shelling. Mykola was born in the village of Skipche in the Khmelnytskyi region. He completed school there and obtained a construction specialty at a college. He lived in the city of Fastiv in the Kyiv region and worked in his specialty, laying tiles. His main hobby was helping people in every way. Mykola was a bright, kind, and sensitive person. On the first day of the full-scale invasion, he enlisted in the territorial defense and stood guard over the city of Fastiv and the community. Later, he joined the ranks of the 208th Separate Battalion of the Territorial Defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and defended the state on the eastern frontiers. “He was a very responsible, loving man and a good father of three children! Always with a smile and humor! He was very sincere and a true patriot of Ukraine! He had golden hands, always joked, and was an optimist! We will miss him dearly. It's hard to express what I, my husband, and all our family feel… Emptiness… Eternal and bright memory to the Hero of Ukraine! I want to say that the best are dying, the flower of the nation…” wrote Mykola's brother's wife, Natalia Shkarpenko. “He was a very kind person. An honest, brave, and caring father who always fought for his homeland,” noted the Fastiv community. “A wonderful man, a loving father. He wanted his children to receive a good education and become true individuals. He put in a lot of effort for this. He gave his life defending our Ukraine! Condolences to the family. Stay strong, dear ones! Your father is a Hero!” wrote his friend Larysa Chipko. The defender was buried in the Glory Alley of the International Cemetery in Fastiv. Mykola is survived by his wife Oksana, daughter Yana, and two sons: Bohdan and Timur.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
