Mykola V. Shynkarenko (Udav)

Sergeant Mykola Shynkarenko (call sign Udav) was killed on February 5, 2023, during a hostile assault near the settlement of Krasna Hora in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 36 years old. Mykola was born in the town of Zavodske, Poltava region. He worked at the agricultural cooperative "Uklandfarming PLC". He participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) in Donbas. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended his native country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of senior sergeant in a motorized infantry platoon of a motorized infantry battalion. We worked together at the factory, loved to talk and joke. He was hardworking and purposeful, giving himself completely to his work. He had a good sense of humor. He was a sincere and kind person," said his colleague Natalia. "My beloved, life without you has stopped. The world has ceased to exist. I will love you forever. You will always be in my heart. Sleep peacefully, my dear," wrote his beloved Iryna. Mykola was buried in his hometown. At home, his parents, wife, and son were waiting for the defender.
