- Fighter of the Territorial Defense Forces, Mykola Holikov, passed away on April 16, 2022, from injuries sustained during the defense of Kyiv from Russian occupiers. 1.5 months prior, Mykola was caught in an enemy ambush and received 10 bullet wounds. For 1.5 months, doctors fought for his life, during which time the man underwent 18 surgeries. However, unfortunately, the heart of the 28-year-old defender stopped beating. Mykola was born in the village of Dobrovlyany, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He stu and worked in the city of Kalush. He obtained the profession of an engineer of information and telecommunication systems. He was interested in cars, historical books of prominent Ukrainians, other countries and their structure, collected commemorative coins, and stu English. He actively participated in the Revolution of Dignity and was part of the 3rd hundred of Maidan. In 2014, he went to fight as a volunteer in the "Aidar" battalion. He fought in the ATO. There, he was captured by the enemy, but the man was lucky: he was exchanged and returned home. After his captivity, Mykola settled in Kyiv. There he met his beloved girl, with whom they got married. He worked as an assistant commander of "Mezhyhirya". However, war caught up with the man again. This time in the capital. From the first days, Mykola again went to fight against Russian occupiers. He joined the territorial defense of Kyiv region. Unfortunately, this time the defender fought his last battle. "Mykola was fearless, had a cheerful disposition, and was always ready to help," wrote the fighter's friend, Oleksandr Ivanov. "My beloved was a very brave man. He was not indifferent to all events in Ukraine, since 2014 my beloved went to defend Ukraine as part of the "Aidar" battalion, was in captivity, and did not remain indifferent on February 24, 2022," said the defender's wife, Kateryna. The hero was buried in his native village in Ivano-Frankivsk region. Mykola is survived by his parents and wife.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
