- Soldier Mykyta Kaliayev (call sign Nick) was killed on January 10, 2024 near the settlement of New York in Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, the fighter received a fatal explosive injury. He was 27 years old. Mykyta was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from the Kyiv Vocational and Pedagogical Professional College named after Anton Makarenko. In civilian life, he held the position of technician at Global Tech Service LLC. He was passionate about cars. He loved animals. During the full-scale war, he became a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought in the ranks of the 115th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was part of the Sirko team, which was part of the 225th Assault Battalion. On December 30, 2023, the President of Ukraine awarded the fighter with the Combat Merit Cross. "My son is a brave hero who always smiled and had many plans for life," said Oksana Kazimova. Mykyta was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the Forest Cemetery in Kyiv.
