- Soldier Myroslav Bondarchuk was killed on January 11, 2023, during enemy air strikes in the Chasiv Yar area of Donetsk region. The defender was 48 years old. Myroslav was born and lived in Kyiv. He graduated from school No. 123 and also a music school in the cornet class. He then enrolled at Kyiv Vocational School No. 18. After completing his studies, he served in the military in Pereiaslav. He was a creative and talented person: he could draw well, write poetry, and play musical instruments. At one time, he worked in the Kyiv workshop of JSC "Ukrastavratsiya", where he directly participated in the restoration of such historical monuments as St. Sophia Cathedral (including the gates), the Golden Gate, the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos Pyrohoshcha in Podil, Kyiv, and the Odesa Opera and Ballet Theater. His passion was construction and restoration, he could do absolutely everything: make furniture, repair equipment, sew clothes and shoes. He had a great sense of humor, was an optimist and always smiled. In 2014-2015, he volunteered at the war veterans' hospital in Pushcha-Vodytsya. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 4th separate tank brigade named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovsky, holding the position of driver-electrician of the communications repair workshop. "In the first days of the full-scale war, he voluntarily went to defend his Homeland. He dreamed that his child would live in a free and prosperous Ukraine. Above all, he loved his daughter, who was born in 2010. The loss of her father became a great grief and trial for her, as they had a very close connection. His daughter still has a screensaver on her phone - a photo of one of the last conversations with her father, which lasted an hour. A great loss for the whole family, with which we are learning to live. We believe that he is now our guardian angel and continues his struggle in the other world. Forever in our hearts and memory, forever with us," shared the late defender's ex-wife Aliona. The defender was buried in the village of Kalinivka, Kyiv region. Myroslav is survived by his mother, brother, daughter, relatives, close friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
