Myroslav T. Ostapiuk

Born on January 21, 1970, in the village of Pidpechery, Tysmenytsia district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Graduated from high school. Served mandatory military service in the ranks of the Armed Forces of the USSR. In 2014, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Volunteer Ukrainian Corps "Right Sector," where he became a fighter of the 5th battalion. From October 20, 2014, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On February 7, 2015, he was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the Tysmenytsia-Tlumach District Military Commissariat of Ivano-Frankivsk region. He served as a sanitary instructor in the anti-aircraft artillery battery of the 14th separate mechanized brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A1008 (field post V0259), city of Volodymyr-Volynskyi, Volyn region). From spring-summer 2015, he again participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. In July 2015, junior sergeant Ostapyuk was killed in the area of the village of Kremenivka in Volodarsky district (since 2016 - Nikolske) of Donetsk region. The last time the serviceman was in contact was on July 21, 2015. Since then, he was considered missing in action. On July 28, 2015, the body of an unknown man in camouflage clothing was discovered. Subsequently, DNA testing confirmed that this was the body of junior sergeant Myroslav Ostapyuk. On September 9, 2016, he was buried in the cemetery of the village of Pidpechery, Tysmenytsia district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
