- 25-year-old Lieutenant Nazar Havrysh (call sign Lemish) died on February 6, 2023 in a military hospital in Dnipro. On February 5, the soldier sustained severe injuries during an enemy mortar attack near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. He was operated on and hospitalized. However, the defender's heart stopped. Nazar was born in Tlumach, Ivano-Frankivsk region. He graduated with a gold medal from Tlumach Lyceum No. 1. After school, he studied at the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, majoring in Applied Mathematics and Programming. Later, he worked as a software developer in the IT department of Vostok Bank. He was passionate about football, cycling, swimming, chess, books, and beekeeping. At the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Nazar was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 34th Separate Rifle Battalion, holding the position of machine gun platoon commander. "Nazar was the best person I've ever met: wise, sincere, kind, brave... He achieved a lot in his 25 years and would have achieved even more, but first and foremost, he wanted to live his life right, and so he gave it for freedom. From a young age, he had ideological views and was a conscious patriot. In 2017, he said: 'This is one of the best ways to die - to die for an idea, for one's loved ones...,' " said the deceased's beloved Tonya Melnychuk. "Nazar burned with the flame of love for the Motherland. He went to defend Ukraine not because he hated those in front, but because he loved those behind him very much," added the officer's mother Ruslana Havrysh. The officer was buried in his hometown. At home, the hero was awaited by his parents, younger brother, grandmother, and fiancée.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
