- The Ukrainian champion in kickboxing and territorial defense fighter Nazar Makarenko died on May 25, 2022 in the Donetsk region from serious injuries incompatible with life. The warrior was 25 years old. Nazar was from the Khmilnytskyi region. He was passionate about sports and stu foreign languages from childhood. After school, he entered the Khmilnytskyi National University. He served his regular military service. He loved fishing. Nazar worked at the Ploskyriv sports and cultural center. There he managed the Thai boxing and kickboxing section. Acquaintances and friends remember the man as a bright and sincere person. He was respected by colleagues, students and their parents. After February 24, 2022, Nazar went to defend the country together with his father Oleg Anatoliyovych, who had been serving in the army since 2014. The men joined the territorial defense, went to the East together, and were in the same building when it was hit by Russian invaders. The father was always an example for Nazar. "In the war with the Russian invaders, the Ukrainian kickboxing champion WAKO, coach, candidate for master of sports Nazar Makarenko . He was only 25 years old. He worked as an instructor in sports centers, served regular military service," wrote on the social media page of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. "Unite... For your family... The Khmilnytskyi military enlistment office and the territorial defense are glad to see all men from 18 to 60 years old. For your family, for your children and parents, for the Motherland," Nazar wrote under the penultimate photo, where he is in uniform holding his son in his arms.
