Nazar R. Korol

Soldier Nazar Korol was killed on December 11, 2023, during the repulsion of an enemy assault in the area of the settlement of Spirne in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 24 years old. Nazar was from the village of Bila in the Ternopil region. After school, he studied at the Buchach Vocational and Technical School and obtained the profession of an electric gas welder. He then worked at the Chortkiv Bread Factory. He loved sports, particularly playing football. Nazar joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in June 2023. He became a fighter of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade "Edelweiss". He held the position of anti-aircraft gunner in the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 8th Battalion. Together with his comrades-in-arms, he defended the Bakhmut direction. "Nazar did not abandon his position and bravely accepted the battle. Until his last breath, he was faithful to his state, his comrades-in-arms, and the Ukrainian people. Everyone knows Nazar as a person with an infinitely kind heart. I am proud of my son, for a free Ukraine he gave the most precious thing - his life," wrote his mother Oksana Korol. "Nazar was an incredibly kind, sensitive, and fair person, a faithful friend, a comrade-in-arms, he always came to help. He dreamed of living in a free Ukraine," added the deceased's beloved girlfriend Nadiia Valash. The defender was buried in the Alley of Heroes of the cemetery in his native village. Nazar is survived by his parents, grandmother and grandfather, older brother, girlfriend, niece, and goddaughter.
