Nazarii V. Bozhyk

22-year-old military medic Nazar Bozhyk was killed on May 25, 2022, near the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk region. At that moment, the young man was trying to save an injured comrade. Nazar was born in the village of Vivsya in Khmelnytskyi region. He was raised by his grandmother. He studied at the Chemerivtsi Medical College. When the full-scale war began, the young man joined the ranks of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade and went to Donbas as a medic. "Nazar had a difficult fate. With his parents alive, he was raised by his grandmother. She managed to raise him strong, brave, and with love for Ukraine. When the question of the front arose, he did not hesitate for a moment," said the villagers. Nazar's classmates write that he was a pride and example for all, helping everyone who turned to him, a wonderful and good friend. "We really didn't want to believe this, as just a few days ago we were raising money for our Nazarich to help him in the fight against the damned enemy, and now it's like this... Unfortunately, the sad news came that our Hero, Nazar Bozhyk, lost his life to the war!" wrote classmate Diana Harvat. "As a combat medic, he saved the lives of his comrades, but unfortunately, he could not save his own life... His sincere smile will forever remain in our hearts! A low bow to Nazar for his courage, bravery, and dedication! A low bow to Nazar's grandmother for raising such a wonderful, kind, and compassionate person and a true man!" wrote Nazar Bozhyk's friends. Friends remember Nazar as a kind, cheerful, and optimistic young man. He was sure that he had only a few months left to serve and that he would return home. Nazar was buried in his native village in Khmelnytskyi region. His grandmother was waiting for him at home.
