Nazarii Yu. Konitskyi (Labai)

Nazarii Konitskyi (call sign Labai), a soldier, was killed on February 1, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Vodiane in the Donetsk region. The defender was 21 years old. Nazarii was from the village of Dubivtsi in the Ternopil region. From childhood, he lived with his parents in the village of Plotycha. After school, he obtained the profession of a welder at a vocational school. For some time, he worked in his specialty. In his free time, he loved to fish. In 2021, he went to Portugal, where he worked as a general worker at a fruit and vegetable base. However, with the start of the full-scale war, in March 2022, the young man returned home, as he wanted to protect his native country from the invaders. He underwent training and later joined the ranks of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynsky. He held the position of driver of the anti-aircraft missile platoon. In the autumn, he underwent training in Poland and then went to the Donetsk region. "My son returned from abroad and went to defend the country at the age of 21. He told his father: 'If we don't go there, they will come here.' He was very kind, loved nature and animals, and helped his parents a lot. He was a fun-loving person throughout his life. He dreamed of his own business, a car, because he loved to drive from an early age," said Maria Konitska. The warrior was buried in his native village. At home, his parents and brother were waiting for Nazarii.
