Oleh A. Khrystenko (Krylov)

Oleg Khrystenko (call sign Krylov), a storm trooper, was killed on June 7, 2023, during the assault on enemy positions in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 21 years old. Oleg was born and lived in Lviv. He obtained a higher education at the Lviv Polytechnic National University. In peacetime, he worked in the IT field and implemented successful private projects in the field of AR and 3D. From a young age, he showed an active civic position and was a participant in various patriotic movements. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man realized his dream and became a military of the Azov regiment. Oleg went to Kyiv and joined the then Special Operations Forces Azov unit, which later became the 3rd separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He took the position of a shooter and soon went to the front. "Oleg was brave, sincere and very cheerful. His eyes were always smiling, he knew how to support and find the right words. Unfortunately, we did not have time to legalize our relationship, but he will forever remain in my heart," said the deceased's beloved Valeria Kovalenko. "The greatest value of every woman is motherhood. The inhumans were able to take your body, but they will never be able to take away the greatness, strength and power of my wonderful son," said the fighter's mother, Olena Krylova. The young soldier was buried in the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. Oleg left behind his mother, stepfather, fiancée, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, soldier Oleg Khrystenko was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
