Oleh A. Petryk (Shark)

Senior Sergeant Oleg Petryk (call sign Shark) was killed on March 29, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Oleksandrivka in the Kherson region. The warrior remained forever 40 years old. Oleg was born in Odesa. He graduated from secondary school No. 1. Later he studied at the Odesa Institute of Internal Affairs, majoring in "Law". He worked as a lawyer's assistant and an investigator in the police. He was interested in the history of Ukraine and Odesa. On the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He fought as part of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. He was the commander of a mortar platoon mortar battery. "Oleg was a loving father. He was smart, kind, polite, compassionate, and helped everyone. He disassembled and repaired cars, household appliances, and watches. He took on everything and could do everything," his mother Oleksandra said. The defender was buried at the Western Cemetery in his native Odesa. Oleg is survived by his parents and son.
