Oleh A. Sereda (Sereda)

Soldier Oleh Sereda died on March 4, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near Vuhledar in the Donetsk region. The fighter covered his comrade during the enemy artillery shelling. The defender was 54 years old. Oleh was born in Zolotonosha, Cherkasy region. He studied at the Semen Skliarenko Gymnasium. Then he graduated from the Shevchenkivskyi Hydro-Melioration Technical School. In the 1990s, he was a rescue firefighter. Later, he became a master of welding and straightening work, working for himself. He spent all his free time with his family, especially adoring his granddaughter. He was interested in space. He loved his many friends very much and never refused them anything. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the 118th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In the autumn, he was seconded to the 72nd brigade and fought with it on the front line, including in Donbas. "He is my soul, which flew away with him on March 4, 2023. I'm never afraid with you, my dear. Now you are my God," writes the daughter of the fallen. "Oleh Sereda died... Sorrow and grief... He was my nanny, brother, friend, advisor, teacher, and protector throughout my childhood. Everything is now interrupted... A heavy loss... I express my condolences to all the relatives and painfully share this terrible loss with them," wrote Oleksandr Boiko. The defender was buried in the Alley of Glory in his hometown. At home, Oleh was awaited by his wife Svitlana, daughter Viktoriia, and granddaughter Kira.
