Oleh A. Slyva (Khanter)

Soldier Oleg Sliva (call sign Hunter) was killed on November 14, 2023 while performing a combat mission in the Avdiivka area in the Donetsk region. The enemy's tank shelling took the warrior's life. The defender was 40 years old. Oleg was born in the village of Mala Pobyvanka, Poltava region. He graduated from the Synivske Vocational School and mastered the profession of a builder and driver. In civilian life, he worked as a salesman in a fishing goods store. He was passionate about hunting and fishing. He was the chairman of the board of the public organization "All-Ukrainian Association of Hunters, Fishermen, Biodefenders" in the Poltava region. In February 2023, the man joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 407th separate rifle battalion. He was a machine gunner. "Oleg was a good father, husband, son and brother. To the last breath, he remained faithful to his comrades-in-arms, his people and his Motherland. He fulfilled his duty as a citizen of Ukraine to defend his state with honor and dignity," said his sister Natalia. The defender was buried in the cemetery in the city of Hadiach, Poltava region. Oleg is survived by his parents, wife, three daughters, other relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, soldier Oleg Sliva was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.
