Oleh B. Ustianovskyi

29-year-old Lieutenant Oleh Ustianovsky (call sign Cavalier) was killed on July 23, 2024 in the village of Vodiane, Donetsk region, as a result of a direct hit of a shell on his shelter. Oleh was born in the city of Stryi, Lviv region. He lived in the village of Pukenychi. He received secondary specialized education at the Drohobych Technical School of Oil and Gas. He later continued his studies at the Ivano-Frankivsk University of Oil and Gas, majoring in "Operation of Oil and Gas Wells". However, he did not work in his profession. In different years, he was an employee of the companies "Leon" and "Morshynska". He loved football. He defended the country as part of the 36th separate rifle battalion. He held the position of commander of the machine gun platoon of the 2nd rifle company. For his service, Oleh Ustianovsky was awarded the "For the Defense of Ukraine" distinction. "He was the best brother, son, grandson and guy. He was always an example for us and will remain so in the future. His support, kindness and inexhaustible sense of humor made our lives brighter and easier. The brother always found the right words to encourage, and always understood without words, offering a shoulder to lean on. He gave instructions on how to act in one situation or another. I am more proud of my brother than I can express in words. Unfortunately, the war takes the best..." - his sister Adriana said. The defender was buried in the village of Pukenychi, Lviv region. Oleh is survived by his parents, brother, sister, grandmother and girlfriend.
