Oleh H. Romenskyi (Rumun)

Senior soldier Oleh Romenskyi (call sign Romanian) was killed on November 25, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region. During enemy mortar shelling, he received a fatal head injury. The warrior was 21 years old. Oleh was born in the village of Yerky, Poltava region. In 2008, he went to the 1st grade of Yerky School. In 2011, he continued his studies at Trudolyubivska School, which he graduated from after 6 years. He then obtained the profession of electromechanic at the Khorol Agrarian and Industrial College. He was involved in sports. He loved life. In September 2021, after completing his studies, the young man signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He carried out combat missions in the area of the Joint Forces Operation as part of the 95th Separate Airmobile Brigade. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, he continued to defend Ukraine from the enemy along with his comrades-in-arms. He held the position of operator of the Strila-10 air defense system. In November 2022, for his dedication and high professionalism, he was awarded the "Cross of Honor" of the 95th Separate Airmobile Brigade. "Oleh was always a smiling, sincere and conscientious person. He had many friends, was energetic, and that's how we'll remember him. For all of us, this is a great loss. The war takes the best," said the deceased's sister Kateryna. The young paratrooper was buried in his native village. His parents and sister were waiting for him at home.
