Oleh I. Fedkovych (Simba)

23-year-old Senior Sergeant Oleh Fedkovych (call sign Simba) was killed on December 12, 2023, in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. While performing a combat mission, he sustained a fatal explosive-fragmentation head injury. Oleh was from the village of Sukhovolia in the Lviv region. He graduated from Lviv Vocational School No. 20, where he mastered the profession of a car mechanic. He then enrolled in the correspondence department of the National University "Lviv Polytechnic", where he studied "Locomotive Operations". In peacetime, he worked at "Nova Poshta". With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the defense of Ukraine against the occupiers. He served in the 80th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a reconnaissance radio operator in the reconnaissance platoon. During his service, he was awarded the medals "For Exemplary Service" and "Veteran of the War". "Oleh was brave, sincere, honest, kind, and always lent a helping hand to others. He was a patriot of his country, never told his relatives the terrible truth about the war, always supported and helped, and was my pillar," said the deceased's sister. The paratrooper was buried in his native village. Oleh is survived by his parents Natalia and Ivan, brother Vadym, and sister Roksolana.
