Oleh I. Rybalchenko (Ryba)

Oleh Ihorovych Rybalchenko was born on May 19, 1994 in Cherkasy. He studied at school No. 28, and in 2011 he entered the Faculty of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. He studied at the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Foreign Countries. He researched issues of modern history of Greece. He was fluent in Greek. From his student years, he was a participant in the ultras movement "Dynamo" (Kyiv). He actively participated in the events of the Revolution of Dignity. Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war, he volunteered for the front. In the summer and autumn of 2014, he fought in the volunteer platoon "Syndicate" (as part of the volunteer battalions "Aidar" and "OUN") in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. After returning from the front, he was engaged in public activities and worked as a journalist. He covered high-profile corruption schemes. From the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he volunteered for the "UVO" company (112th Separate Mechanized Brigade, later 23rd Separate Special Operations Battalion under the separate presidential brigade). He participated in the defense of Kyiv. He commanded a reconnaissance platoon. He was killed on December 21, 2022 in a battle in the area of the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. The farewell took place on December 30, 2022 in the St. Michael's Golden-Domed Cathedral.
