- Soldier Oleh Badlo was killed on August 13, 2022, in the area of the village of Ivano-Dariivka in the Donetsk region. During a counteroffensive, he came under enemy mortar fire and received fatal injuries. In June, the defender turned 48 years old. Oleh was born in the city of Polohy, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the Polohy Vocational School. He worked as a lathe operator at Dniprokeramika LLC. In his free time, he loved to fish. In 2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. On February 24, 2022, the man took up arms again and went to defend his country from the Russian invaders. He served in the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa. Together with the unit, he defended the Donetsk region. "Oleh was a true patriot, a Hero of his time, because his struggle for the independence of Ukraine began back in 2015. A brave warrior, a defender of his native land. On the first day of the full-scale war, he went again with the words: 'Who, if not me?'. He was mobilized from his native city of Polohy, which was occupied from March 3, 2022," said Olha Dmytrenko, the sister of the deceased's wife. The warrior was buried at the Krasnopilskyi Cemetery in Dnipro. Oleh is survived by his parents, sister, wife, daughter, relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. Posthumously, Soldier Oleh Badlo was awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
