Oleh M. Artemchuk (Medoid)

Seaman Oleg Artemchuk (call sign Medoid) was killed on August 1, 2023 while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Makarivka in the Donetsk region. The defender was 37 years old. Oleg was born and lived in Odesa. He received secondary education in one of the city's schools. He served his compulsory military service. He worked as a sales representative. In his free time, he loved to play football and computer strategy games. During the full-scale war, in April 2022, the man went to the front as a volunteer. Oleg served in the 35th separate marine brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He held the position of BMP mechanic-driver. As part of his unit, he participated in the liberation of the Kherson region, and then went to defend the Donetsk region. "Oleg was a brave, smart, beloved husband and a good, cheerful dad. The guys were not afraid to go on combat missions with my husband, because they were confident in him. Oleg went through Kherson, Mariinka, Staromaiorskoye and many other hot spots in the Donetsk region," said the wife of the fallen. Oleg was buried at the Western Cemetery in his native Odesa. At home, the marine was awaited by his wife Oksana and daughter Sofia, who was 4 years old at the time of her father's death.
