- Soldier Oleg Gasin (call sign Dali) died on January 29, 2023 in a hospital in Dnipro. A few days earlier, he sustained serious injuries while carrying out a combat mission near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The defender was 38 years old. Oleg was born in the village of Ulyanivka, Kirovohrad region. In childhood, he moved with his family to the city of Dolynsk. There he graduated from school No. 2 and moved to the city of Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2004, he graduated from the Polytechnic College of Kryvyi Rih University with a degree in "Maintenance, repair and operation of traction rolling stock". He got a job at the ArcelorMittal enterprise, working as a locomotive driver. In 2020, he married, raising his wife's daughter as his own. Later, the couple had a common daughter. The man adored his family, always spoiled his girls and protected them from all troubles. He was passionate about tattoos and rock music. During the full-scale war, in the fall of 2022, Oleg joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland. He served in the ranks of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade "Kholodny Yar". He was a rifleman-medic. He participated in the defense of Bakhmut. "Oleg Gasin is a Ukrainian hero, a loving father, a beloved husband, a faithful friend and a caring son. He lived the life of a courageous, honest and proud Ukrainian. He loved Ukraine, its people and traditions, and always believed in the brightest future of his country. Deep respect to the parents who raised a true patriot and son of Ukraine! This loss is irreparable, we will always remember Oleg alive. Eternal glory and memory to our defender, who gave the most precious - his life ... Eternal memory and eternal glory to the Hero!" - wrote the deceased's loved ones. The defender was buried at the Central Cemetery in Kryvyi Rih. Oleg is survived by his parents, wife, two daughters, relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms.
