Senior Seaman Oleg Grebeny (call sign Alex) was killed on June 22, 2023 while performing a combat mission near the village of Makarivka in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 53 years old. Oleg was a resident of the village of Gorodkivka in the Vinnytsia region. He had a secondary education. He worked for a long time at a sugar factory and did heavy work on construction sites. He was fond of fishing and football. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation. With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, from February 26, 2022, the man was in the ranks of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 35th separate brigade of the Marine Corps named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrogradsky. He held the position of a rigger in the technical support platoon of the tank battalion. During his service, the defender was awarded the commemorative badge "Duty Performed with Honor", the medal "For the Defense of the Homeland" and posthumously - the distinction "Defender of the Fatherland". "Dad was very kind and sincere, always ready to come to the rescue at any time. He was resilient, courageous and fearless. His spirit and dedication will remain in our hearts forever," said Anastasia Grebeny. The marine was buried in the village of Gorodkivka in the Vinnytsia region. At home, Oleg was awaited by his wife, son, daughter, sister, brother, friends and relatives.
