Oleh M. Pavlyk

Senior Lieutenant Oleh Pavlik was killed on December 30, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the village of Bila Hora in the Donetsk region. Four days before this, the officer turned 52 years old. Oleh was born in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Kryvyi Rih Mining Institute. During his studies, he also completed the military department and mastered the profession of a tank operator. In civilian life, he worked as the deputy head of the workshop of networks and substations of the ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih metallurgical plant. In his free time, he loved to play billiards and, according to his friends, did it masterfully. He repeatedly took first places at the factory and city championships. He also loved fishing, was passionate about cars, and could fix everything with his own hands. With the start of the full-scale war, the man was engaged in volunteering and was a donor. As a manager at the enterprise, he had a military exemption and could not go to the front. However, in May, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He carried out various combat missions. He was in the platoon clearing the liberated territories of the Kherson region, defending his native city on the southern borders. In early December, he was transferred to the position of senior officer of the mortar battery of military unit A0414 and sent to the Bakhmut area in the Donetsk region. Oleh was buried in his hometown. At home, the defender was awaited by his mother, sister, two sons, and niece.
