Oleh M. Shostopal (Khalk)

Senior soldier Oleg Shostopal (call sign Hulk) was killed on June 10, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the area of the village of Romanivka in Donetsk region. The fighter was 36 years old. Oleg was born in the village of Velyki Huliaky in Kyiv Oblast. He graduated from Velykohuliakivskyi secondary school. He met his love. After getting married, the couple moved to Kyiv. He worked as a car mechanic and loved his job very much. During the full-scale Russian invasion, Oleg was mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 53rd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Volodymyr Monomakh. He held the position of a chemist in the radiation, chemical, and biological protection unit. "He was very kind, sincere, and never refused to help. He was a master of his craft. He loved cars and playing football. Oleg adored his job and took it very seriously. Even when he was already at the front, people would call him and ask him to check their cars," said the wife of the fallen. "My brother was a good and bright person. He always helped those in need. He loved his family, his mother, children, wife, and sisters. He loved his country and went to volunteer without any military experience without hesitation. This is a very painful loss for our family," added his sister Lyudmila. The defender was buried in his native village. At home, Oleg was awaited by his wife Natalia, son Yevhen, and daughter Marichka, as well as his mother and sisters.
