  A former military serviceman, he completed his conscription in the airborne troops as a sniper-reconnaissance officer, then served under contract. He was an active participant in the Revolution of Dignity, leading a rapid response group in the 8th "Afghan" hundred of the Maidan self-defense. Later, he volunteered to go to the front and participated in almost all battles of the "Aidar" battalion.
