Oleh O. Bieliak

Oleg Olegovych Belyak was born on September 21, 1984, in the city of Berdiansk, Zaporizhia region. In 2006, he graduated from the Kyiv National University of Food Technologies. During his military service, senior soldier Oleg Belyak distinguished himself well, performing his duties exemplary, showing initiative and diligence. As part of a combined unit of the 3rd Border Detachment, Oleg actively participated in combat operations to repel armed Russian aggression and in the defense of the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region. On May 23, 2022, during the execution of a combat mission, a group of servicemen came under enemy artillery fire. As a result of the enemy shelling of Ukrainian positions in the area of the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region, Oleg sustained injuries incompatible with life. For personal courage and selfless actions displayed in defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and loyalty to the military oath, senior soldier Oleg Olegovych Belyak was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree.
