Biography
Oleg Romanovych Moroz was born on June 8, 1993 in Mykolaiv. After completing his studies, he served in the 79th Separate Airmobile Brigade. During the defense of Donetsk Airport, he was wounded, but returned to the front. From the first days of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he fought on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The positions of the 79th Brigade were located on the bank of the Siversky Donets River, with the left flank bordering the border. When the Russians began the offensive, the brigade risked being surrounded and received orders to withdraw. However, before the withdrawal, the Ukrainian troops had to delay the Russian crossing of the bridge. The bridge was mined, but due to artillery shelling, the wires were cut and the explosion did not occur. Sergeant Oleg Moroz, the head of the engineering and sapper platoon, volunteered, drove a car with explosives onto the bridge with a remote detonator, and left unharmed, after which the bridge was blown up. For this operation, Oleg was awarded the title of "Hero of Ukraine". He died on June 10, 2022 in a battle near Sloviansk. On June 24, 2022, the hero was buried at the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. He is survived by his parents and sister.Burial place
