Oleh R. Nahliak (Chili)

Senior soldier Oleg Nagliak (call sign Chile) was killed on August 28, 2023, while carrying out a combat mission in the Bakhmut direction. The warrior's life was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. On November 5, the defender would have turned 25 years old. Oleg was born in the village of Borshchivska Turka, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 2004, he went to the 1st grade in his native village. After 4 years, he transferred to a high school in the village of Khlibichyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region. In 2013, he entered the Chernivtsi Railway Technical School. But after the second year, he left his studies to help his mother with his younger sisters and brother. The last two years he worked as a senior cashier at the "Nova Poshta" in the city of Kolomyia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. During the full-scale war, the man defended the Motherland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a serviceman of the 214th separate special battalion "OPFOR". On August 25, 2023, three days before his death, Oleg was awarded the Medal "For Courage and Bravery". "He was a good and sincere person all his life, worked in many jobs to help our family. In every team, he always found a common language and interests. His comrades-in-arms said that he was a very good friend and soldier, the newcomers and even the guys they served with looked up to him. He never did anything bad to anyone. He looked for the positive in everything and supported people if they needed it. He could always find words of support and rejoiced in everyone's successes. He was a cheerful and sincere person. Even after the loss of his father in 2009, being a child, he supported his mother and us," said the deceased's sister Tamara. The defender was buried in his native village. Oleg is survived by his mother Irina Petrivna, sisters Tamara and Vera, brother Oleksandr, a loving family, friends and comrades-in-arms.
