- Soldier Oleg Gaidabura (call sign Panama) was killed on June 26, 2024 near the village of Komar in the Donetsk region. While performing his duties, he sustained fatal injuries during shelling. He did not live to see his 45th birthday. Oleg was born in the village of Vechirchyne, Poltava region. He graduated from the Hadiach Higher Vocational Agrarian School and obtained the profession of a mason. In civilian life, he worked as a security guard. In his free time, he went fishing. In recent years, he lived with his family in the village of Chernecha. During the full-scale war, the man fought for his country in the ranks of the 1st Separate Tank Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. "Oleg was an example of a true hero and a man with a capital letter. His love for his family, loyalty to his friends, and dedication to service evoke great respect. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he immediately took up the defense of his Homeland. 'We need to protect Ukraine so that our children have a happy future,' these words of Oleg reflected his deep sense of duty. Even at a great distance from home, Oleg remained the head of the family, always ready to listen, advise and help. He never showed his difficulties, always saying: 'I'm on vacation' to support the morale of his loved ones. Having many plans for the future, during short vacations, he tried to do as much as possible at home and visit friends and colleagues. Oleg had a special tradition - to gather his large family at the festive table, where he rested his soul. His presence, advice and kindness will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him," his wife Natalia said. The tanker was buried in the city of Hadiach, Poltava region. Oleg is survived by his mother, wife, three children and a granddaughter.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
