Military Oleg Korolchuk (call sign Wild) was killed on June 19, 2023, after stepping on an enemy mine near the city of Kurakhove in the Donetsk region. The defender was 25 years old. Oleg was born and lived in Lutsk. He graduated from the 9th grade of secondary school No. 25. In his free time, he loved to play football and read books. With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man went to the military registration and enlistment office and was voluntarily mobilized. Initially, he served in a special operations unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, he was transferred to a storm brigade of the ground forces and went to defend the Donetsk region. "Oleg was a very bright, positive, polite, kind and sincere person. He always helped everyone, despite his difficult life from childhood. He never asked for anything and was very grateful for the support and kind words. He volunteered from the very beginning of the war. He was very smart, gave 100% on combat missions. He was also a very sensitive person and was deeply saddened by the death of his comrades. In September 2022, he was sent to hot spots. He spent 8 months there without vacations and rotations. That's where he was killed," said Anastasia Muravlyova, a close friend of the fallen. The military was buried in the village of Harazdzha in Volyn. At home, Oleg was awaited by his mother, grandmother, uncle, nephew and friends.
