- Oleg Krylas (call sign Krylaty), a soldier, was killed on May 31, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in the Pryvilla area of Luhansk region. The 44-year-old defender's life was cut short by a bullet from an enemy sniper. Oleg was born in the town of Dzerzhynsk (now Romanov) in Zhytomyr region. He graduated from the National Academy of the State Tax Service of Ukraine with a degree in Economics and Enterprise. He worked as a warehouse manager at Fakelmann Ukraine LLC. In his native town, the man got married and raised a daughter. However, his first marriage did not work out. Oleg remarried and moved to Irpin, Kyiv region. In 2014-2015, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. Then he returned home. From the first days of the full-scale war, Oleg was engaged in volunteer activities: he supported his neighbors and helped them. After the liberation of the Kyiv region from the occupiers, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 111th separate brigade of the territorial defense, holding the position of chief sergeant. "Heroes do not die. They just stop being around. They fly away quietly, without saying goodbye. Perhaps because they did not intend to die. They had plans, worked, rejoiced in life, loved their family, their children, their land, their Motherland. This is how my husband, my hero Oleg Krylas, was - a lover of life and a patriot. We lived 16 wonderful years together. We had two children: a son and a daughter. It seemed like we were to live and rejoice," said the widow Neonila. Oleg was buried on the Alley of Glory in Irpin. The serviceman is survived by his mother, wife, and three children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
