- 35-year-old junior sergeant Oleh Parkhomenko (call sign Parkhom) died on July 29, 2023, near the village of Klishchiyivka in the Donetsk region. A group of defenders during a combat mission came under artillery fire. Oleh and two of his comrades were buried in a dugout. The man was considered missing for 9 months, then his relatives received DNA confirmation. Oleh was born in the village of Hulyaipole, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from the Dnipro National University of Railway Transport named after Academician V. Lazaryan. In 2016, he moved to the Rivne region. In Rivne, he worked in the police, first as a patrol officer and later as an instructor at the Horodok Police Training Center. He devoted his free time to his family and loved ones. Since 2014, during the ATO period, the man has been defending Ukraine from Russian invaders. He served in various units: the Donbas battalion, the Kulchytsky battalion, the 130th separate reconnaissance battalion, the 104th separate territorial defense brigade, and the 3rd separate assault brigade. He was a gunner of the assault squad at the time of his death. During his service, the defender was awarded the following awards: a badge and insignia of the Kulchytsky Battalion, medals "For Courage", "For Sacrifice and Love for Ukraine", "For Participation in the Battles of the Eastern Front", "For Service to Ukraine", a commemorative medal "For Loyalty to the Traditions of the Battalion", the "Cross of Combat Brotherhood", and the commemorative badge "Ilovaisk-2014", the badge "Cross of the Brave". "Oleh went through the Ilovaisk cauldron, was captured during the battle, but since he was seriously wounded, he was exchanged... He was an incredible person, a faithful friend, the best husband and the best dad for his children! He didn't have time to see the younger son, I was 7 months pregnant when he died..." - his wife Maria said. The warrior was buried in the village of Ivanichi in the Rivne region, where he lived with his family. Oleh is survived by his wife and two children.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
