Oleh V. Demchuk

Sergeant Oleg Demchuk was killed on January 7, 2023 in battle with the occupiers near the city of Soledar in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 34 years old. Oleg was born in the village of Sadky, Rivne region. He graduated from Holovynska secondary school. He worked at a company that manufactures monuments. In 2014, he participated in the Anti-Terrorist Operation in Donbas. With the start of the full-scale war, the man went again to defend Ukraine from the Russian occupiers. He fought as part of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. "The best man, father, son, brother... Always kind, sensitive, friendly. Supported in any situation. From the first day of the war, he went without hesitation to defend his family. Cheerful, smiling, handsome. He will forever be 34. This is how we will remember him. Defending, he gave his life on his son's birthday," said the wife of the fallen Kateryna. "A loving son, husband and father, the best brother, a reliable friend and comrade... A faithful son of his people, a true Hero and patriot of his country, who gave the most precious thing - his own life... Defending their native land from Russian invaders, the best sons of Ukraine are going, who would still live and live. War, cruel and merciless, takes the best!" - noted in the Holovynska village council. The defender was buried in the village of Ivanychi, Rivne region. Oleg left behind his parents, sister, wife and a son who was 3 years old at the time of his father's death.
