Oleh V. Havula

Sergeant Oleg Gavula was killed in action on August 3, 2022, while performing a combat mission near the village of Pisky in the Donetsk region. The fighter was 46 years old. Oleg was from the village of Berezinka in the Kirovograd region. He graduated from Kirovograd State Pedagogical University named after Vladimir Vynnychenko, majoring in foreign languages. He worked as a translator, tutor. He loved music, professionally played chess. In 2014, he took part in the ATO in Donbass. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man went to war again to defend his native country from the occupiers. He served in the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade. He held the position of platoon commander. "The best husband, loving father, caring son and brother... Always came to help," said Natalia, the wife of the deceased. "My childhood friend Oleg Gavula was killed in action. You were unique, very smart. Who else could you fool around with, so that you could talk English for whole days in a Ukrainian-speaking environment? Peace to your soul. Glory to the Hero!", wrote Veles Dozenko. The defender was buried in his native village. Oleg left behind his parents, brother, wife, son and daughter.
