Oleh V. Ilinchuk

32-year-old soldier Oleh Ilinchuk was killed on June 13, 2023, while performing a combat mission in the area of Storozheve village, Donetsk region. Oleh was born in the village of Karmalyukivka, Odesa region. Recently, he lived in Berezivka. His greatest passion was fishing. Even while in Donetsk region, Oleh found the opportunity to go fishing. He loved the construction business and dreamed of opening his own construction company after the victory. After the start of the full-scale war, he volunteered to join the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Initially, he served in military unit A3571. In 2023, he was transferred to the 35th separate brigade of the naval infantry named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Ostrohradskyy. He was a sailor of the naval infantry company in military unit A2613. As part of the 88th separate battalion, he took part in the liberation of the village of Storozheve in the Donetsk region, where he fought his last battle. "Olehyk has been a kind, caring, and brave person since childhood. He was the person you could rely on at any moment. My brother always helped me, supported me, and I was not afraid with him. When he was killed, a part of me was killed. Life without him became gray. My brother can never be replaced by anyone, but I want the whole world to know about him," said the fighter's sister Natalia Lapeniuk. "For me, he was, is, and will forever be the best person in my life! A true hero, a person devoted to his work. From the first days of the full-scale invasion, Olehyk voluntarily went to the military enlistment office and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, even without having completed military service and never holding an assault rifle. He always said: 'Who, if not me? I will do everything in my power to end this cursed war.' But, unfortunately, he couldn't..." added his fiancée Natalia Ivanchenko. The hero was buried in the Odesa region. The defender left behind his mother Lyubov, sister Natalia, daughters from a previous marriage Evangeline and Sophia, fiancée Natalia, and other relatives and friends.
