Oleh V. Kurtushan (Ketia)

Master Sergeant Oleh Kurtushann (call sign Ketya) was killed on January 5, 2024 near the village of Krynky in the Kherson region. During the performance of a combat mission, he was ferrying his comrades across the Dnipro River by boat when the enemy made a drone strike. Oleh was 48 years old. He was born in Novokrainska, Kirovohrad region. After school, he entered Vocational School No. 40, where he obtained the profession of a mechanic. He served his conscription. Later, he engaged in entrepreneurial activities. For the last 15 years, he was interested in industrial fishing. During the full-scale Russian invasion, he defended Ukraine as part of the 121st separate brigade of the territorial defense. He held the position of driver. He was awarded the "Veteran of War" badge, the "Defender of the Native Land" medal, and the President's award "For the Defense of Ukraine". "My husband was a very good family man, a loving father. We lived 26 happy years together. He loved justice. He had a lot of friends who valued his best trait - humanity," his wife Olena said. The warrior was buried in his hometown. Oleh is survived by his wife and daughter.
