Oleh V. Ostapenko

Born on March 11, 1993, in the village of Kolodyazhne, Kovel District, Volyn Region. In 2010, he graduated from the general education school in the village of Kolodyazhne, Kovel District. Since 2010, he has been in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In February 2015, he graduated from the Hetman Petro Sahaidachny National Ground Forces Academy (Lviv) with a degree in "Armament and Engineering Troops Technology." Since 2015, he served in the 30th Separate Guards Mechanized Novograd-Volynskyi Brigade of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (military unit A0409, Novograd-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr Region). From March 17 to October 7, 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. In the combat zone, he carried out tasks for the evacuation of damaged equipment from the front line, as well as for the installation of modular fire structures at the front line of clashes with the enemy. On October 22, 2015, Senior Lieutenant Ostapenko died of cardiac arrest during his leave. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Kolodyazhne, Kovel District. On October 24, 2016, a memorial plaque was unveiled in the village of Kolodyazhne on the facade of the general education school (Shkilna Street, 18), where Oleg Ostapenko studied.
