Oleh V. Ostapuk (Lieshyi)

38-year-old soldier Oleh Ostapuk (call sign Lishyi) was killed on March 17, 2023, while carrying out a service task near the settlement of Dvorichna in the Kharkiv region. During the enemy shelling, he received a fatal injury as a result of a direct hit of a shell in the dugout. Oleh was born in the village of Osykuvate, Dnipropetrovsk region. He graduated from Zoriana secondary school. Then he studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Construction College and received a second degree as an agronomist. Most of his life he worked as a foreman of a construction team. His last job was at the Agrotsentr K company. In his free time, he loved fishing and traveling. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to protect his country and family. He served in the 40th separate rifle battalion. He was a machine gunner. "My husband has been defending the Motherland and his family since the first days of the war. He never regretted it and always said that God and truth are on our side. He was always cheerful and friendly, ready to help. He loved his family very much, especially his daughters. We really miss his sincere smile, support and advice. We remember, we love. Eternal memory to the Hero!" - shared Alona Ostapuk. The defender was buried in his native village. Oleh is survived by his mother, brother, wife and two daughters.
