- Born on November 5, 1964, in the Murmansk region (Russian Federation) to a military family. Later, he moved with his family to the city of Zhmerinka in the Vinnytsia region. In 1980, he graduated from the 8th grade of secondary school No. 2 (now the educational complex "general education school I-III degrees - lyceum") in Zhmerinka, then attended vocational technical school No. 4 in Vinnytsia (now the Vinnytsia Interregional Higher Vocational School). In the 1980s, he served in the Soviet Armed Forces. As part of the Limited Contingent of Soviet troops, he participated in the war in the territory of the Republic of Afghanistan. In 1986, he was involved in the liquidation of the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. He worked in the Zhmerinka signaling and communication distance. Then, for 4 years, he served in the Kyiv militarized security service, which was responsible for the protection of secret facilities. Until 2014, he worked as a security guard at a solar power station in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. After the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, he moved to the mainland of Ukraine. Oleg Pugachov had serious health problems; he suffered a stroke and became a second-group disabled person. Being a patriot of his country, despite his age and disability, he could not remain indifferent to the events threatening the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In February 2015, he volunteered to join the ranks of the volunteer battalion "OUN" (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists), where he became a shooter. Call sign "Sled." From winter-spring 2015, he participated in the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine. On the night of April 20-21, 2015, fighter Oleg Pugachov was killed as a result of shelling from 120-mm mortars at a checkpoint near the village of Pisky in the Yasynuvata district of Donetsk region. On April 25, 2015, he was buried at the Upper Cemetery in the village of Stanislavchik, Zhmerinka district, Vinnytsia region.Book of Remembrance for Ukraine - Ukrainian memorial
