- 37-year-old soldier Oleg Sanzharevskyi (call sign Polyak) died on May 26, 2024 in a hospital in Kyiv. On May 17, during the performance of a combat mission in the Donetsk region, he came under enemy fire from an FPV drone. As a result of the hit on the car, Oleg sustained severe injuries to his entire body. Doctors fought for his life to the last. The man was born in Tyumen (Russia). When he was 4 years old, the family moved to Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, where they lived all the time. He obtained the profession of an electric gas welder at the Donetsk Vocational Technical School, but by the call of his soul he was always a rescuer. He went from an ordinary firefighter to the commander of the unit of the State Fire and Rescue Squad of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk region. At work, Oleg was always respected for his fairness. In August 2021, he resigned from the State Emergency Service and went to work in Poland. When the full-scale invasion began, Oleg returned to Ukraine without hesitation. To reach his hometown, he walked from Dnipro, and as soon as he reached home, he immediately went to the Territorial Center of Recruitment and immediately went to defend his country. The man fought in the ranks of the 109th separate brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was a crane driver. "Oleg was a kind and sensitive person, a loving husband and father. He always came to help, he could never refuse anyone. As his commander said: 'I don't have anyone like him anymore.' Oleg was my support and support, and for the child - an example of what a man should be. For us, Oleg is a hero who did not hesitate to defend his country," his wife said. The defender was buried in his native Pokrovsk. Oleg left behind his wife Alina and son Artem, who was 7 years old at the time of his father's death.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
