Oleh V. Slipko

Senior Sergeant Oleh Slipko was killed on December 23, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission near the settlement of Opytne in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 49 years old. Oleh was born in the village of Lisnovychi, Lviv region. He obtained the profession of a driver at a vocational school in Sudova Vyshnya. He mostly worked on construction sites abroad. He was passionate about cars and yachts. When he had a grandson Illia, he devoted all his free time to the boy. During the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended the Motherland in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo. "Dad was a very good, kind and reliable person, whom you could turn to at any time. He was the best husband, dad and grandfather. He always wore a smile on his lips and brought a good mood to everyone around him. Dad always said he was fighting for the bright and independent future of his grandchildren and children, so that they could live in a free country. Dad, even if you are not in front of my eyes now, your image will forever remain in my heart. Now you are our guardian angel," said his son Ihor. "He was a good person. He always helped when it was needed. I remember him as cheerful and friendly. This person could give away the last thing if someone needed it. He will always be in our hearts. Eternal memory to the hero of Ukraine," added Oleh's niece. The serviceman was buried in his native village. Oleh is survived by his mother, wife, son, daughter, son-in-law and grandson.
