- Oleg Valeriyovych Voloshin was born on August 11, 1994, in the city of Bakhmach, Chernihiv region. From 2013 to 2015, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Since 2017, he joined the patrol police of Kyiv. Together with other law enforcement officers, Oleg voluntarily enlisted in a combined unit to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders. A compassionate, caring, and bright person, an optimist. Oleg was someone who would not leave you in trouble and was always willing to help. He was active, eager to share his knowledge and experience. He devoted all his free time after service to his family. The best dad, a loving husband, a caring son. He was a model of optimism, loved nature, music, and cars. Oleg not only saw beauty but also created it with his own hands—his wonderful leather products will long remind friends and family of him. At work, he was a responsible employee and a sincere friend. Persistent, reliable, brave. "It's hard to realize that Oleg is no longer with us. We worked side by side for almost three years. Cheerful, full of life, hardworking, he could find common ground with different people, a reliable partner and a good friend. He lived with faith in his heart. He often talked about what he wanted to do in old age and never spoke of death. He made sharp jokes and never took offense at jokes. In difficult situations, Oleg could always be counted on, as he always helped. A wonderful family man. Family was always his top priority. Thank you for your service and friendship, partner! I believe you are in a better world now..." said police officer Anastasia Bondar. "Oleg Voloshin was my mentor in the patrol police. I was his first intern, and everything I know and can do is his merit. A sincere, caring, reliable, and selfless police officer. Oleg was an incredibly kind person. I was often amazed that despite the hard work, he always behaved with dignity and tried to help everyone around him. Many people come into our lives and leave, but only true friends leave a mark on our hearts. Oleg will forever remain in my memory..." said colleague Oleksiy Anisimov with sadness. "I remember how Oleg used to hum: 'Without Podil, Kyiv is impossible...' and colleagues would continue: 'Upper Val and Lower Val—there Voloshin was processing...' And they began to call Spaska Street Voloshynska among themselves. Always cheerful, positive, a good family man and comrade. It can be confidently said about Oleg that there will never be another like him. Rest in peace, my friend..." noted platoon commander Viktor Kucherenco. Patrol police officer Oleg Voloshin was killed on July 20, 2022, during shelling in Kherson region, defending his native land from Russian invaders. He was just about to turn 29 in August. His parents lost their son, his wife became a widow, and his little son was left without a father...Memory Book of the MIA System
