- Junior Sergeant Oleh Spasyba (call sign "Veselyi) was killed on October 17, 2023, in combat with the occupiers near the settlement of Yampil in the Donetsk region. As a result of enemy tank shelling, he received fatal injuries. The warrior did not live 5 days until his 34th birthday. Oleh was from the village of Hermanivka, Kyiv region. In 2007, he graduated from the Hermanivka Secondary School of I-III Degrees named after the Hetman brothers. Then he studied at the Obukhiv Technical School, where he obtained the qualification of a car mechanic. Later, he received a master's degree in "Management of Organizations and Administration" at the National Transport University. He was passionate about military affairs, so he constantly underwent various trainings and training in practical, applied, combat, and primary medical training. He obtained the qualification of a 3rd class shooter. Since 2019, he has worked in the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine, in particular in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center. During his service, he was awarded for conscientious and high-quality performance of his official duties, as well as for courage, dedication, and a desire to increase his contribution to the development of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine. On February 24, 2022, Oleh took up arms and went to defend his native country. On July 16, 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade. He was the commander of a battalion platoon "Wolves Da Vinci". "Oleh was an extraordinarily bright, kind, and sincere person. He loved to help others and gave priceless advice. Oleh knew how to bring joyful and happy moments at any time, and it was always a pleasant surprise. With the start of the full-scale invasion, he, without fear, took up arms and went to defend the unity of Ukraine. He said that it could not be otherwise, because he wanted his son to speak Ukrainian, to know his history, and to live in a free, independent Ukraine. He did everything for this. Until the last, Oleh defended his comrades and was killed, saving two. He is our brave and fair Hero. Oleh is a hero of the whole country!" - said Varvara Rohoza, the sister of the deceased's wife. Oleh was buried on his birthday, October 22, in his native village. The defender left behind his mother Yuliia Vasylivna, brother Vladyslav, wife Anastasiia, son Yevhenii, who was 2 years old at the time of his father's death, as well as relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms.Memory Platform 'Memorial'
