- Soldier Oleh Dubytskyi (call sign Kroka) was killed on February 17, 2023, by the enemy fire while defending a strongpoint near Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. The warrior was 46 years old. Oleh was born in the city of Sumy. He studied at school No. 15. In 1999, he graduated from the Sumy State Pedagogical Institute named after A.S. Makarenko with a degree in "Physical Education," obtaining the qualification of a physical education teacher. In 2013, he received a second higher education in "Public Administration" at the Kharkiv Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine. For over 12 years, he was involved in the field of entrepreneurship at the Sumy City Council. His last position was the head of the trade and consumer market department. In his free time, he was engaged in sports, led an active lifestyle, and also had another passion - working with wood. With the start of the full-scale invasion, the man actively helped the residents of Sumy with evacuation and food supply to stores. In April 2022, he joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a grenade launcher in the 2nd special company of the military unit A4270. He carried out combat missions in the Donetsk direction. "Both at work and in his personal life, Oleh was known as a kind, sensitive, and selfless person, always ready to help everyone who needed it. He was a reliable comrade and a loving family man," the Sumy City Council noted. He was buried in the Alley of Glory of the Baranivske Cemetery in the city of Sumy. Oleh is survived by his wife Alla, daughters Alina and Anastasia, as well as other relatives, friends, and comrades-in-arms. The defender was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage of the III degree. The military man was also posthumously awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the City of Sumy."Memory Platform 'Memorial'
