Senior soldier Oleg Roman was killed in action on May 10, 2024, as a result of enemy shelling from a multiple rocket launcher near the village of Nevske in the Luhansk region. Oleg was 29 years old. He was born in the city of Pomichna, Kirovohrad region. In 2019, he joined the railway. He worked in the Znamensk detachment of the militarized security of the branch "Departmental militarized security", holding the position of a 3rd class shooter of the militarized security team of the Pomichna station. That same year, he was drafted for military service. After half a year, the man signed a contract with a military unit to serve in Odesa. His railway colleagues knew him as a conscientious and responsible employee who diligently and efficiently performed his duties. They remember that Oleg was non-conflictual and always behaved with dignity. In his free time, he was passionate about football. "He proved himself only in a positive way. Oleg successfully completed his training, excellently mastered the educational material. During the performance of official duties, he was distinguished by perseverance and principled position. Colleagues spoke only well of him," said the deputy head of the militarized security team, Oleksandr Luhvishchyk. During the full-scale invasion, the man defended Ukraine as part of the 95th separate airborne assault brigade. He is survived by his mother, stepfather, and other relatives.
